I’ve used Cab Fresh from Amazon for Rodent control in RVs for years. These are like large tea bags with a strong pine/balsam smell. When they loose their “odor” I have been dousing them with peppermint oil.
This reviewed product is similar but with a very strong peppermint smell. Value wise a little better than the Cab Fresh, and should be just as effective.
These are also good for under the hood of vehicles as squirrels/mice seem to like the soybean based wiring.
We have a big problem with mice and rats in our garage and shed. We have tried (and still use) a lot of methods for repelling or relocating mice (no poison because we have a lot of owls that help control the rodent activity).
But we still get the rodents that take up residency in our garage and shed. I have put these in various locations and it does seem like we have less unwanted visitors, but I can't guarantee they are working 100%.
I got these for my storage unit as somehow, mice have been finding their way in. Very frustrating. I'm not a fan of killing them, nor do I like to use chemicals. If there is a chance I can repel them naturally, I'm willing to give it a chance.
Personally, I REALLY like the smell of these pouches. I'm a fan of essential oils and this scent falls right into that category.
The mouse repellent pouches from Lakota Naturals arrives in a zip sealed foil pouch.
The pouches are smaller than the others I have purchased; I hadn't noticed the weight of the bag when I ordered - I just noted the number of pouches (10).
These scented pouches are made of 60% oils, a blend of citronella, peppermint, cedarwood, lemongrass and geranium oils. The balance is the solid matter, which in this case is predominantly vermiculite and Douglas fir bark.
These are 3 inch square sachets filled with aromatic herbs. The smell is quite strong, but that's what works. I put one in my chicken coop a few weeks ago and it still smells. It seems to be working, as I haven't seen any further signs of rats in the coop.
